The state owned Daily News reminds us of Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda’s directive that each District Administration should purchase at least fifty power tillers this year. And direct from the dealers too! Pinda knows how to spot a bargain.
Slackers please note that the District Commissioner for Lindi Rural District will be taking names of those “not involved in agriculture and reasons behind.” Quite right too. You know who you are….
Kilimo Kwanza has taken on a life of its own. Conceived by the Tanzania National Business Council, it’s aim is supposedly to commmercialise Tanzanian agriculture. With actual implementation by the Tanzanian state we are back to the old ways of supply side targets being set in Dar es Salaam, District Commissioners taking names and shadowy ‘dealers’.
We’ll theorise this some other day.
If any DCs are reading, you could do worse than Hubei Fotma Machinery Co. Ltd.

ndeed it is Kubota from Siam Kubota. Now we are introducing more kubota products into Tanzania. Rice transplanters, combine harvesters, tractors, riding tillers etc. All from Kubota. fact is Kubota is a good machine, we are fully behind teh product with full warranty and after sales service and so today Kubota is teh highest selling power tillers in Tanzania. There is no politics in this.
